Net Excess Generation Notes

Excess generation is defined as the electricity exported to the Grid when energy generated at that given time was not used in the property/house.

When the customer’s distributed generation delivers excess generated power to the City’s electrical grid, the City will credit the Customer for the excess according to the rates set forth in the City’s “Distributed Generation Energy Metering Rate, Schedule 10”.

  • Should be within 3 ft and in sight of the utility meter.
  • Other locations require Logan City Light & Power approval.
SLD Reqs
  • This document must indicate the location of the solar electric modules, inverter, batteries (if any), lockable disconnect switch, and point of connection with the utility system.
  • All electrical equipment specifications and calculations must be shown on the one-line. Any signs/labels should be shown with their respective calculated values on the one-line.
  • The installation address, current account number at that address, and the installer's name and telephone number must also be included. 
  • For a 6000 Inverter please use a 40A 2P Breaker. There is a shortage of 35A Breakers
