Net Excess Generation Notes

The Customer shall be credited for all Received KWH’s at the current residential solar rate each month.

If the customers generating facility “GF” produces more kWh’s than the customer consumes each month, the customer will be paid for all (received) kWh at the current residential solar “GF” rate each month.

The City will only compensate a “GF” (Generating Facility) customer up to but not to exceed the amount that it consumes in kWh’s during the calendar year. If the customer generates more kWh’s than they consume through the calendar year, that excess will be forfeited. The exact number and layout of modules and how they are connected together (in series or in parallel)

All wire types

All wire sizes

Conduit types and sizes

Detailed info on the grounding wiring and connections

Electric Service Reqs

System Size: 15kW-DC Max

Additional Service Study may be required if the Generating Facility exceeds the below limitations:

The rated aggregate generation kVA on any distribution transformer after the addition of the new GF equals or exceeds 30% of the rating of the transformer;

The rated aggregate generation kVA on any protective device or feeder from the point of interconnection to the substation transformer exceeds 13.3% of the rating that protective device or feeder

The rated aggregate generation kVA on any feeder or portion of a feeder equals or exceeds 20% of the existing annual minimum load on that feeder or feeder section

Placards

Must be Red in color and attached in a secure manner. If at any time any placards are not legible or become loose, the customer will be required to replace it within two week or the city may disconnect the service until it is repaired.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with Kaysville City before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
