Net Metering Customers are defined as Customers who have installed residential solar technology capable of producing less than 10kW as distributed generation on the Customer side of the LP&L Meter. As a condition of Service under this Rate Schedule, all Net Metering Customers must sign an Interconnection Agreement. Customers that qualify for this rate will receive credit in kWh generated against kWh consumed in one billing period. KWh credits will only offset up to the amount of kWh consumed in each billing period.

At the end of each billing period, if the energy supplied by Customer to LP&L is lessthan the energy supplied by LP&L to Customer, Customer shall be billed using the currently- applicable LP&L Tariff for the net energy amount. If the energy supplied by Customer to LP&L is greater than the energy supplied by LP&L, Customer shall be billed for the appropriate monthly charges for service availability from LP&L, as provided in the applicable LP&L Tariff.

Site Plan Reqs

AC Disconnect does NOT have to be next to the UM if the UM is in an alley. Avoid trenching if we are not doing an MPU

SLD Reqs

Install Reqs

Any additional meters necessary for measuring the total renewable electricity generated for the purposes of receiving Renewable Energy Certificates shall be installed at the Customer’s expense, unless otherwise determined during negotiations for the sale of the Customer’s Renewable Energy Certificates to LP&L.

AC. 60 hertz. Single-phase 120/240 volts. Three-phase 240 volts where available on secondary.

Customer-owned renewable generation shall include a utility-interactive inverter, or other device that performs the function of automatically isolating the Customer-owned generation equipment from the electric grid in the event the electric grid loses power.

In the event LP&L elects to install a manual disconnect switch, it shall be installed at LP&L’s expense. The LP&L installed manual disconnect switch shall be the visible load break type to provide a separation point between the AC power output of the Customer-owned renewable generation and any Customer wiring connected to LP&L’s system. The manual disconnect switch shall be mounted separate from, but adjacent to, the LP&L meter socket. The Customer shall ensure that such manual disconnect switch shall remain readily accessible to LP&L and be capable of being locked in the open position with a single LP&L utility padlock.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with LP&L - Lubbock Power & Light before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
