- In order to qualify for Rollback net metering we cannot exceed 100% of the homeowner's annual consumption. If the homeowner decides to proceed with an oversized system, they will have to to proceed with a different net metering option.

- If existing usage is not available, build to contract
- If existing usage is exceeding kwh production, build to contract
- If existing usage is below kwh production, build to as close to existing usage without going over

Plans & docs
- SLD Reqs
Relay Meter Orientation = Over/Under
- Total estimated production be added to the ELD (include existing system production if applicable)
- PRODUCTION METER IS REQUIRED ON ALL PROJECTS
- PV meter to be within 5 ft of utility meter
- Ubill holder must be listed on the SLD
- If we do not have 12 months usage, build to contract
- INV > TOP OF PM, OUT THE BOTTOM OF PM > AC > POI > Bottom of Utility Meter, top of utility meter to utility feed
- Conductors/neutral feeding MSP must be drawn from the bottom of the utility meter. See "One Line Diagram Sample" in Files section of this page.
- The breaker rating specified on the SLD must match the installed breaker.
- Utility meter should be wired with top wires going to Utility Feed, and Bottom wires going to MSP.
- Utility will install one Production Meter (PM) and one Utility Bidirectional Meter (UM). Existing and new solar installations must be metered by the same PM.
- If a water heater meter exists, add this note to SLD: "Water heater will be rewired prior to field inspection.โ The water heater meter must be wired to the MSP before requesting field inspection.
- Surge Protection is NOT Required "unless we are replacing existing MSP with New (MPU)" Do not include this otherwise on the Plans.
- Section 230.67 of the new 2020 NEC requires the installation of a surge-protective device (SPD) for all dwelling unit service entrances. New and replaced electrical equipment and systems must incorporate Type 1 or Type 2 SPDs. Type 1 surge protective devices can be installed before the main disconnect in the load center, at the meter enclosure or on the load side of the main circuit breaker. Type 2 surge protective devices can only be installed on the load side of the main disconnect, attached directly to a circuit breaker. Often, new construction will install Type 1 surge protectors, while renovations will install Type 2 surge protectors, but both types will satisfy the new requirements.
- As of July 1, 2021, this state uses the 2020 NEC. See "Surge Protection and NEC 2020" in Files section of this page.
EXISTING SYSTEMS
- Systems to be combined, Only one Production Meter per project.
- Show kW-DC size of existing, new and total systems on both site plan & ELD. See "System Size example" in Files section of this page.
- Show estimated production of existing, new, and total systems. Ex below
- "New expansion estimated annual production : xxxx kWh AC"
- "Existing system estimated annual production : xxxx kWh AC"
- "Total system estimated annual production : xxxx kWh AC"
- Install Reqs
INV > TOP OF PM, OUT THE BOTTOM OF PM > AC > POI

- Electrical Diagram Notes
BATTERY JOBS: Include the mode of operation on the ELD.
- If existing meter is to be opened (Line tap or MBE), existing meter must be rated for 200A or more
- Must have 3ft clearance in from of main panel, we will need to relocate
- /\ /\ If existing UG service, we will need a meter spot to grandfather existing location
- Bubble meters not permitted, must upgrade if existing bubble meter or under 100A service
- Electrical Review Team \/ \/ \/ \/ (if the meter needs to be unlocked/opened for MPU/Derate/battery work)
- Meter needs to be 80ft or closer from utility pole (if closest point on home is not within 80ft, we need a utility engineer to give the okay on the service drop distance to be left as is or may be required to install a meter pole closer to their utility pole)
- Meter cannot be under a porch nor service line crossing a roof less than 8ft in height (service line to roof) or 4ft in length
- Weatherhead is to be 36 inches from roofline
- Middle of meter bubble must be minimum 4ft, max 5ft 6inches
- No embedded meters allowed (if opening meter, would need to bring this out)
- In the event that there is a tree in the path of where the service line will be running through (overhead), this will need to be trimmed prior to the utility energizing the MPU
