Net Excess Generation Notes

Any excess energy generated by the customer and supplied to SUB's system shall be valued based upon the Avoided Cost Rate. If during a billing cycle a customer has provided excess energy, the customer shall be billed for appropriate monthly charges, as determined by SUB, and shall receive a credit on their billing statement for such excess energy at the applicable Avoided Cost Rate.

Once enrolled in the Net Metering Program, the customer cannot join other programs (Low Income, Average Pay, etc.). If they are enrolled in another program, they’ll have to leave that program before they can apply for the Net Metering Program.

Site Plan Reqs
  • Major electrical component locations must be shown and labeled. Major electrical components include panels, inverters, disconnects, batteries, etc.
  • The AC disconnect must be accessible to the utility 24/7
  • The AC disconnect must be visible from the utility meter
SLD Reqs
  • Must show including metering points in relation to SUB's electrical system and the customer's generating system location
Install Reqs
  • The system complies with all the latest applicable National Electric Code (NEC) requirements, building codes
  • Provide space for metering equipment and meter base as per SUB requirements. The system must have a manual disconnect switch that is clearly visible from the meter and SUB shall have access to the manual disconnect switch. The manual disconnect switch shall provide a visible open-connection between customers generation and SUB’s source. The manual disconnect switch shall be lockable only in the open position. 
  • The customer’s over-current device at the service panel shall be marked to indicate power source and connection to SUB’s distribution system.
