Net Excess Generation Notes

Customer-Generators of electricity are eligible to be billed on a "standard net metering" basis. "Standard net metering" means measuring the difference in an applicable billing period between the electricity supplied by the Company and the electricity generated by a Customer-Generator that is fed back to the Company. Standard net metering shall be accomplished using a single meter capable of registering the amount (flow) of electricity which flowed in each direction during a billing period.

If the Customer-Generator provides more electricity to the Company than the Company provides to the Customer-Generator, only the excess generation component shall be allowed to accumulate as a credit until netted against the Customer-Generator’s bill, or until the Customer-Generator requests in writing a refund that amounts to, but is no greater than, an annual true-up of accumulated credits over a 12 month period. Bill charges or credits will be in accordance with the Generation Standard Offer Service Schedule that would apply if the Customer were not a Customer-Generator.

SLD Reqs

A one-line diagram showing the configuration of the proposed DG system, including the protection and controls, disconnection devices, nameplate rating of each device, power factor rating, transformer connections, and other information deemed relevant by the Interconnection Service Customer

Electric Service Reqs

AES requires an MPU permit for MPU work

Install Reqs

A disconnect switch to isolate the DG equipment for purposes of safety during maintenance and during emergency conditions. The Company may require a disconnect device to be provided, installed by, and paid for by the customer, which is accessible to and lockable by Company personnel, either at the primary voltage level, which may include load-break cutouts, switches and elbows, or on the secondary voltage level, which may include a secondary breaker or switch. The switch must be clearly labeled as a DG disconnect switch.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with AES Ohio (Dayton Power and Light) before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
