- System Offset Notes
- VEA may accept an LJF (Load Justification Form) for larger systems (over 100% offset). This must be on the PE letterhead, along with it being produced, signed and stamped by the PE. This utility refers to the LJF as an 8760 Report.
- If we are using an LJF to design a larger system, we will need to provide VEA load calculations, the completed LJF, and plans, along with a letter on PE letterhead verifying these items. (VEA Load Calc sheet can be found in files section, as well as an example of an 8760 Report (LJF)) If requesting load calcs through a PE service, include the VEA form and specify the VEA format is needed, not standard load calcs.
- VEA is now requiring that we cap offset at 100% of the customers 12 month historical usage. SQFT can be used if the customer does not have 12 months - to determine square footage, you would take the livable floorspace x 2.8.
- VEA is not currently accepting LJF, system must be sized to 100% or SQ FT.

Plans & docs
- Site Plan Reqs
- SLD Reqs
- Meter base must be installed by the installer before inspection.
- Show DC and AC sizes as kW, not W. (5.25kW is correct. 5250W is incorrect.)
- On SLD, show CEC system size in kW-AC.
- When quoting module rating, show CEC rating, not PTC rating. Show AC and CEC (not PTC) ratings on engineering docs.
- The AC system size cannot be larger than the DC system size
- Load Calcs are required to be provided using VEA's Load Calc sheet. See "VEA Load Calculation Sheet" and tools in Files section of this page. If requesting these through a PE service, include this form and specify the VEA format is needed, not standard load calcs.
- On a case by case basis, an 8760 report may be needed if VEA denies the load calculations. An example of this report can be found in the file section
