Install Reqs

_AC Disconnect:_


* Disconnect switch must be separate from and will not be a feeder breaker in the customer's load center or distribution panel.

* Not required to be fusiable, but can at the customer's request.

* Disconnect will not be integral to the grid tie inverter.

* Disconnect must be accessible to utility at all times.

* Include lockable handle

* Single point grounding connection -- grounding lug shall bve permanently bonded to the metal of the AC safety disconnect cabinet.


_Inverter: _


* Must immediately disconnect from the grid is power quality falls out of specifications.

* Detect and prevent feeding electricity to the utility grid when the grid source is no longer present.

* Wait for five minutes of clean power from the grid before trying to reconnect.


Grid Tie Inverter, AC Disconnect, and the main meter / load center must be connected by copper conductors and should not rely on conduit connections for bonding.

* Labels and Marking requirements of the NEC shall apply

* Any disconnecting means that are not load-break-rated, such as fuses, module quick connects (leads), combiner boxes, or other switches that are located in series with the safety disconnect switch must be marked **"Do not open under load"** in accordance with NEC Section 690.16(B)

* Safety disconnect switch required to be labeled in accordance with NEC Section 690.17 **" Photovoltaic AC DISCONNECT Warning: ELECTRICAL SHOCK HAZARD -- DO NOT TOUCH TERMINALS -- TERMINALS ON BOTH THE LINE AND LOAD SIDES MAY BE ENERGIZED "**

* The Load Center on the main panel at which the Power Districts meter is installed is required to be marked with the following label. _Lincoln County Power District will furnish and install this label_ **"CAUTION SOLAR ELECTRIC SYSTEM INSTALLED"**
