SLD Reqs

An outside lockable blade type switch is required between the generator and the Amicalola EMC system.

The Switch must be located near the meter.

Amicalola EMC will change out the meter in the existing meter socket to a net meter. No other changes are necessary there, but we do require a PV disconnect within 5 feet of the meter base for easy access by AEMC employees if needed.

Line Side Taps allowed but not in meter can

Install Reqs

A special net meter will be installed to replace your regular meter when the system is turned on. The regular meter that is there now records generation as usage and will increase your bill instead of reducing it.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with Amicalola EMC before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
