Utility Disconnect Switch Placard Guidelines
- Placard Requirements
- Location: Front cover of the utility disconnect switch (See Detail "A" in Electrical Standards).
- Material: Non-ferrous metal or poly-plastic, UV-resistant, epoxy glued or riveted.
- Labeling: Engraved or stamped, 1/4" high, white text on a red background.
- โ No: Peel-and-stick labels, paint, or marker.
- When to Add Extra Placards
- Multiple Meters: If there is more than one Tampa Electric meter, place this on the correct meter: "On-Site Generation"
- More than 6 Feet Apart (or blocked by a fence/structure): "ON-SITE GENERATION UTILITY DISCONNECT SWITCH LOCATED 6 FEET TO THE RIGHT/LEFT OF METER"
