Net Excess Generation Notes

Net credits shall be defined as the difference between customer generated energy and Board supplied energy under circumstances where the customer generation equipment supplies more than the energy needs (kWh) consumed by the customer generator. Net credits will be carried over from month to month for a period of twelve months beginning April 1 and ending on March 31, the "Net Metering Period". A reconciliation of the account will be performed on March 31. If a credit balance remains at the end of the Net Metering period, within sixty (60) days of the end of the Net Metering Period a payment will be made or, at the option of the customer, the credit will be carried forward to the next Net Metering Period. Bills shall be calculated and rendered on a monthly billing cycle basis. If paid out after the "Net Metering Period", it'll be calculated as remaining kWh multiplied by the avoided cost.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with Lamar Light and Power before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
