Net Excess Generation Notes

"Option A - Annual True-up. The consumer may elect an annual billing true-up period ending in either March

or September. Annually, within sixty (60) days after the end of the applicable annual billing true-up period,

or within sixty (60) days after the C-G terminates its retail service, GCEA shall account for any accrued excess

energy generation, expressed in kilowatt-hours, for the applicable annual billing period, or portion thereof,

and pay the C-G for such energy at GCEA’s average wholesale energy rate for the applicable billing period, or

portion thereof. The calculation of GCEA’s average wholesale energy rate for the applicable billing period

shall be based on GCEA’s energy cost as billed by the power supplier, divided by the total kWhs purchased

by GCEA. The C-G may choose to change their election from Annual True-up to the Perpetual Rollover option

at least 30 days prior to their annual billing true-up period ending date to be effective starting with the first

day of the subsequent monthly billing period.

Option B - Perpetual Rollover. The C-G may make a one-time election in writing to have GCEA carry forward

the C-G’s excess generation as an energy (kWh) credit from month to month perpetually until the C-G moves

or terminates service, at which time no payment shall be made by GCEA for any remaining excess energy

balance. Energy credits may not be transferred between GCEA accounts or to a new owner if a C-G moves.

The Perpetual Rollover option is a permanent election and once chosen cannot be changed under any

circumstances."

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with Gunnison County Electric Association before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
