When net metering is negative, such that the PV-W system production is greater than the customer’s consumption in any month, the excess will be carried forward for use during the subsequent month during the measurement period from April 1 to March 31 of any year. In the event that such negative balance remains after March 31st of each year during the measurement period, the City of Gunnison will credit the customer for such negative balance at the City of Gunnison’s Wholesale Rate.
*Customers will be billed the monthly service charge for each month, even in months when negative or no net electric consumption by the customer results.

NOTE: Per the Public Works director, they prefer up to 100% offset as they have a lot of customers who already have solar, and the feeder capacity is almost at maximum. They are scheduled to upgrade some infrastructure this coming 2025 or 2026. Systems that will trigger transformer upgrade will need to be set to non-export, downsized, or install an on-site transformer.
