WGC allows customers to install solar on their site and use the energy generated from the site to power their home. When the solar panels produce exactly what the customer uses, there will be no energy charges added to the customer’s bill (all applicable fees and taxes will apply and must be paid monthly). During times when the solar panels produce more electricity than the customer uses, the net surplus that flows back to the power grid is credited at the WGC rate - $0.04 cents per kilowatt hour. When the solar panels don’t produce enough power for the customer’s home, WGC customers will pay the same rate as other LID electric customers.

If the energy produced by the system is greater than the energy you are using at that time, then the excess energy produced is credited to that month’s bill at the WGC rate - $0.04 cents per kilowatt hour.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with LID - Lathrop Irrigation District before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
