For net metering facilities installed after September 29, 2024 (non-legacy net-metering), net metering customers will be given credit at the avoided cost of energy for any excess kWh fed back to the cooperative during the billing period.

For net metering facilities interconnected before September 30, 2024 (legacy net-metering), net metering customers are given full retail rate credit (1:1) for any excess kWh fed back to the cooperative during the billing period. Any excess kWh generated by the net metering facility will reverse the kWh on the electric meter.

If a temporary disconnect of First Electric’s service is required for this installation, please have the homeowner call them to make this request. Homeowners will need to provide the date and approximate time that the disconnect is desired. If the name and phone number of the licensed electrician that will be on-site is available, please provide that information as well. This request should be made at least 2 days before the desired temporary disconnect. Cutting meter seals and/or the pulling of First Electric meters by anyone other than First Electric personnel can result in a tampering charge being applied to an account.

Electric Service Reqs

Transformer Upgrades : This is part of the application review process. If required Forever can make a request for the cost estimate if you intend to pay for the necessary upgrades. If the upgrades will be the homeowners responsibility, they will need to call and request the cost estimate which would then be sent to them with instructions for payment.

Compiled from public records, 2026. Tariffs and interconnection rules change; verify with First Electric Coop before you rely on this. The useful move: if an installer says you need a main panel upgrade, ask how these tap and interconnection policies were considered first.
