- Electrical Diagram
If a new meter/main combo service panel will be installed on the outside of the home, and IF the existing service panel is inside the home, then a note must be added to the line diagram clearly specifying that an equipment grounding conductor must be provided from the new service panel to the old service panel and all neutrals must be isolated from grounds at the old service panel. This is in accordance with NEC 250.24(A)(5). PLEASE BE AWARE THAT THIS MAY REQUIRE THAT ALL NEW FEEDERS BE PROVIDED FROM THE SERVICE TO THE EXISTING SUB-PANEL SINCE YOU CANNOT RUN THE GROUND WIRE SEPARATELY (see NEC 300.3(B)).
