WE SHOULD AVOID BATTERIES IN GARAGE AT ALL POSSIBLE. THIS SHOULD BE LAST RESORT AND ONLY IF THE PROJECT WILL BE DQED BY HOMEOWNER.
ESS shall be separated from each other by at least 3 feet of spacing unless smaller separation distances are documented to be adequate based on large-scale fire testing complying with Section 1207.1.5
ESS must be installed exterior to the home/garage (Resideo heat detectors are NOT approved)
When interior install is unavoidable, add the PROSIXSMOKEVA document/cutsheet to plans, and add this note to plans: "Resideo PROSIXSMOKEVA installed in each level of the home, sleeping room, and outside each sleeping room. Resideo PROA7 or PROA7PLUS to interconnect all devices together. All devices must be shown as interconnected for ESS notification. Add the PROSIXSMOKEVA document/cutsheet to plans."

Verify proper and permanent labeling with the following information:

“PHOTOVOLTAIC DC DISCONNECT” and “WARNING ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD - DO NOT TOUCH TERMINALS - TERMINALS ON BOTH THE LINE AND LOAD SIDE MAY BE ENERGIZED IN THE OPEN POSITION”. 2013 CEC, Article 690.17.
For ungrounded systems, “WARNING - ELECTRIC SHOCK HAZARD. THE DC CONDUCTORS OF THIS PHOTOVOLTAIC SYSTEM ARE UNGROUNDED AND MAY BE ENERGIZED”. 2013 CEC 690.35(F).
The DC disconnect shall also be properly and permanently labeled with the following Installed System Information: (1) Rated Maximum Power-Point Current (2) Rated Maximum Power-Point Voltage (3) Maximum System Voltage & (4) Short Circuit Current. 2013 CEC, Article 690.53
The AC Disconnect shall be permanently identified with (1) Maximum AC Output, and (2) Operating AC Voltage. 2013 CEC, Article 690.54
If DC Disconnect, Inverter, and/or AC Disconnect are not in the same location as the Utility Service Panel is located, a permanent Plaque shall be installed on the Utility Panel identifying the location(s) of the other equipment. 2013 CEC, Article 690.56
