• ESS disconnecting means shall be permanently marked “ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM DISCONNECT”. CEC 706.15(C)
• Elevation view of PV and ESS system components should detail the distances to doors and windows, height above ground, and clearance between adjacent equipment for the PV and ESS system components.

ESS IN INTERIOR LOCATIONS:

• Rooms and areas within dwelling units and attached garages with ESS shall be protected with smoke alarms. A heat detector, listed and interconnected to the smoke alarms shall be installed in locations within dwelling units and attached garages where smoke alarms cannot be installed due to their listing.
• Please detail impact protection at the garage if the ESS is in the driving path. Batteries in a location subject to vehicle damage shall be provided impact protection for spaces in the normal path of vehicle travel within the garage or otherwise subject to vehicular impact.
