  • Provide ESS anchorage details to avoid AHJ rejection
  • If a battery system is included, add the required ESS host load note to the ELD stating the storage device will not cause the host load to exceed normal peak demand
  • When ESS is installed inside the building, provide a complete and adequate floor plan
  • Identify whether the ESS is wall-mounted or floor-mounted
  • Provide manufacturer anchorage details for all wall-mounted and/or floor-mounted ESS equipment
  • If ESS is wall-mounted and weighs 200 lbs or more, provide structural details on the drawings and separate stamped structural calculations by a California engineer
  • If multiple floor-mounted ESS units have a combined weight of 400 lbs or more, provide structural details on the drawings and separate stamped structural calculations by a California engineer per CBC 1616.10.15 and CBPC 6735
  • Exterior or interior ESS installed in a vehicular pathway must be protected from physical damage
  • Provide complete impact protection details and specifications
