Plan set
- Plan Set Requirements
Absolutely - here’s a cleaned up, organized, and de-duplicated version that keeps the technical intent but is much easier to read and act on:
Structural Requirements
- Provide maximum rafter spans for all roof areas.
- Any spans exceeding Structural Criteria Table 2 require a structural analysis demonstrating the roof’s ability to support the proposed PV loads.
Tilt Mount Array - Gravity & Wind Analysis
- Stating that gravity loads are below current code requirements is not sufficient.
- Provide a specific structural analysis verifying the existing roof framing can support:
- Gravity loads from the tilt-mounted PV system
- Wind loads imposed by the tilt-mounted array
- Live load may not be reduced or removed beneath tilted modules, as sufficient clearance exists for access.
- Revise calculations or provide additional justification accordingly.
Fire Classification
- AHJ requires Class A fire rating for all PV equipment, including:
- Modules
- Racking
- Associated system components
- Roof Plan
- Provide maximum rafter spans for all roof areas. (Spans that exceed structural criteria table 2 will require a structural analysis to justify the adequacy of the roof to withstand the proposed PV loads.)
- Include all conduit run locations
- Attachment Detail
- Specify all lag screws to be STAINLESS STEEL
- Electrical Diagram
Standard
- Electrical Diagram Notes
- All wiring must be properly supported by devices or mechanical means designed and listed for such use, and for roof-mounted systems, wiring must be permanently and completely held off of the roof surface.
- The inverter output connection shall be placed on the opposite end of the main breaker on the busbars per CEC 705.12(D)(2)(3).
